As we gather in the spirit of our Catholic faith, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a blessed and joyful holiday season to all members of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish. May the peace and love of Christ fill your hearts and homes, bringing you comfort and joy. As we look forward to the New Year, may it be a time of abundant blessings and spiritual growth for each of you. Together, let us embrace 2025 with hope and dedication, continuing our journey in faith and service to our community with love and compassion.
In this season of giving, we invite you to reflect on the words of 2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." As members of our faith community, your generous contributions are vital in supporting the mission and activities of our parish. By making a charitable donation before December 31st, you not only help us bridge the gaps in our budget but also have the opportunity to reduce your annual tax bill. Please consult your tax advisor for guidance. To ensure your donation is properly documented, we encourage you to use your monthly envelopes, allowing us to provide you with a receipt if needed. Your support is a testament to your faith and commitment to our shared spiritual journey. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Please note that our office will be closed on certain dates during this festive period. We encourage you to review the attached schedule and plan your visits accordingly. Should you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via email. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating this blessed season with you.
Join us in celebrating the birth of Jesus this Christmas season. We warmly invite our community to come together in worship and joy. As Pope Francis beautifully reminds us, "Christmas is joy, religious joy, an inner joy of light and peace." Please review the attached schedule for details on our Christmas Masses. We look forward to sharing this blessed time with you.
Las Posadas also teaches us about hospitality. As we know, Mary was about to give birth to Jesus, but she and Joseph could not find a place to spend the night. No one would welcome them into their house, and there was no place for them in the local inns. This taught us to feel how they must have felt when no one opened the door to them. This still happens today: there are many people in desperate need to leave their country of origin who are not welcomed in a country that is not theirs. They are fleeing violence, poverty, and danger and trying to find a new life in another country, but the doors are shut in their faces; they are forgotten, marginalized, and treated with disrespect. They are stripped of their dignity, often forced to do jobs that no one else wants to do for much less money than they deserve. Just like the Holy Family needed help 2,000 years ago, there are people today who need our help and we need to open the doors of our hearts and let them in. There are people in our society who need our charity and our hospitality to have a better life.
As we embrace the spirit of giving this Christmas season, we invite our beloved OLHR community to join us in a heartfelt mission to ensure that every child experiences the joy of finding a gift under the tree. In the true essence of our Catholic faith, let us come together to support families in need within our Parish Community. Your generous donation of new, unwrapped toys will light up the faces of children and fill their hearts with happiness. Please place your contributions near the Christmas tree or deliver them to our Parish Office. Let us be the hands and feet of Christ, spreading love and joy to those who need it most.
We are excited to announce two upcoming workshops hosted by the LA Catholic Office for Divine Worship, designed to enrich your understanding and practice of our faith. These sessions will focus on the Sacraments of Initiation and the new Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA).
